NAYJ is deeply saddened to hear of the resignation of Professor Rod Morgan from the Youth Justice Board.

'Rod Morgan has bought a measured and rational voice into what has often been the hysterical debate on youth crime and will be sorely missed'

'We fully endorse his comments made to the BBC yesterday – far too many children are coming into the formal criminal justice system who could be dealt with much more effectively elsewhere. It can only be a matter of shame that the result of this is that we continue to lock up more children than almost any other country in Europe'.
